Here’s the challenge...
Uganda’s public school system faces enormous obstacles that hinder its ability to provide education for children. Insufficient funding and scarce resources lead to horribly overcrowded classrooms, poor or non-existent infrastructure, teacher shortages, low attendance and high dropout rates.
Here’s how we’re helping...
Small private schools offer a viable alternative, giving Ugandan children a legitimate opportunity for success. Ephraim Hope Mission identifies, qualifies and sponsors children and families who need help sending their children to private school.
It’s simple. Here’s how it works:
- You decide at what level you’d like to participate.
- We pair you with a specific child (or children) you’ll sponsor.
- Each year you receive a personal letter from the child(ren) you’re sponsoring.
- We send you a copy of their report card each term, showing your child(ren)’s progress.
The cost to send a child to private school in Uganda is approximately $87 per 3-month term. This includes their tuition, books, supplies and uniform. Children are required to attend three terms per year to qualify for advancement to the next grade. So, the cost per year is $87 x 3 terms = $261 ÷ 365 days/yr = $0.72/day.
- 100% of your donation is used for children’s tuition, books, supplies and uniforms.
- There are no administrative fees taken from your donations.
- Donations are typically 100% tax deductible (501c3, check with your tax professional).
- Our books are CPA monitored and always open for review.

a photograph from your sponsored child(ren) each year,
a personal letter from your sponsored child(ren) each year, and
a copy of your sponsored child(ren)’s report card(s) each term.
